Miami Vice
This series is a reflection of Mitch’s time in his current home, Miami. Through portraiture, street photography, and environmental imagery, the work explores the realities many everyday people face but are often overlooked. The series examines issues such as housing instability, access to clean drinking water, climate change, immigration, and the search for unity within divided communities. Set against the colorful yet vulnerable backdrop of Miami, these images aim to capture both struggle and resilience — documenting moments of tension, survival, humanity, and hope.
Rather than offering answers, the series invites viewers to witness the emotional and social landscapes shaping the human experience in America’s most historically black and indigenous city. Each photograph serves as a conversation around visibility, identity, and collective responsibility as we navigate a rapidly evolving world where income inequality is at its most extreme.
